THE SUBJECT MATTER: Retro life-style; the sixties.
Retro life-style, as it is similar to plagiarism and has the same learning advantages.
The sixties, as a very joyful and happy decade to live in; all the hand-made/traditional methods and techniques used in graphic design.
INTENTION: Bring the sixties back, “be retro” campaign.
Advertise the retro life-style; the sixties old-fashioned methods and traditional techniques (the craftwork); the smiles and the innocence of those ads; all the colourful design.
Inspire to plagiarize the sixties, perhaps mixing the old with the new, reinventing visuals that already exist in the contemporary graphic design with old techniques and styles/processes.
Learn throw plagiarism, became very nostalgic and fight the overwhelming technology of the present.
AUDIENCE: Graphic design students.
OUTCOMES:
POSTERS: Advertising the traditional methods and techniques; mixing the old with the new. Inspiring students to do it again: be retro, go back, learn and enjoy the sixties in the XXI century.
FLYERS: Different format, support, design; different way to sell an idea (street campaign). Ads you can take home or just carry on.
POSTCARDS: To collect the new plagiarized style of graphic design: old plus new, all plagiarized, all telling you to go back and to be free and enjoy life, again.
A PATTERN CATALOGUE: with these new/old visuals as patterns (repeated icons), to use in clothes and all kind of accessories.
